This year’s Book Fair, which will take place December 1st & 2nd at The General Society of Mechanics & Tradesmen in midtown Manhattan, not only marks the 20th Anniversary of one of New York’s most important independent publishing events, but also marks the first Fair under our new name: The New York Center for Independent Publishing. Registration opens today, and to celebrate our re-launch we are offering a 20% discount to all our members. We will be opening registration to last year’s non-member exhibitors on August 22nd and to other non-members on September 4th, so register now in order to secure your ideal location. Last year’s Fair featured over 100 of the nations’ most prominent independent publishers, and such literary and political figures as: T. Cooper, Amiri Baraka, Colin Channer, Michael Cunningham, Tom Engelhardt, Elizabeth Holtzman, Mark Crispin Miller, Eileen Myles, Greg Palast, Paul Robeson, Jr., Anne Waldman and many more.
